Hope for Tomorrow—Preventing and Recovering from Youth Brain Aneurysms
This year, our 15-year-old son, Elliott, experienced the unthinkable: a ruptured brain aneurysm that struck without warning. One moment, he was living his best life ready to leave school after doing GCSE's; the next, he was fighting for his life. Thanks to the extraordinary skills of his medical team at John Ratcliffe Hospital, Oxford and Swindon Hospital, the amazing NHS staff, Elliott has thankfully made a full recovery.
Not knowing anything about Aneurysms, it left a lingering question: How many other teens might suffer the same sudden crisis without the same fortune of early detection and advanced care? The truth is, youth brain aneurysms remain poorly understood. There is an urgent need for research into early warning signs, better screening techniques, and more effective recovery protocols tailored to adolescents.
The money raised will go directly to partnering HBA Support:
Advancing non-invasive screening tools for early aneurysm detection in teens
Creating age-appropriate neuro-rehabilitation resources and support networks
Funding pilot studies that explore new preventative therapies
Elliott's story ended in hope—and we want to pay that hope forward.
Your contribution will accelerate breakthroughs that can save lives, reduce lifelong disabilities, and bring comfort to families facing the worst-case scenario.
Together, we can give every young person the opportunity not just to survive a brain aneurysm, but to thrive beyond it.
