John Joseph O'Sullivan passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 24th August 2014.
When talking over plans for his funeral, Dad knew that it would be a difficult and sad occassion for us all. He expressed his wish that those attending would not feel obliged to wear black or grey. He felt that a little colour would brighten the place up!
He also expressed a wish that he'd prefer family and friends to make a small donation to charity rather than send flowers for his funeral. He explained to us how much he loved seeing flowers growing in the wild and that's the place they should remain!
Dad wanted to support a charity that would benefit local families. Jeremiahs Journey was chosen and there is a link below to explain the work that they do. This page was set up for the purpose of making it easy for those unable to attend who have asked how to make a donation instead of sending flowers. (There will be a collection during the service for any who prefer to donate cash)
However, Dad also understood that there may be other charities that some feel strongly about that they would prefer to donate to, so please feel free to choose.
The funeral will be held on Friday 19th September. Procession leaves St.Margaret's Road at 2.30pm to arrive at Weston Mill Crematorium for the service at 3pm.
