The Lavendon Village Hall Refurbishment Project aims to improve the disabled access and associated amenities, reduce energy bills, upgrade the kitchen, catering and toilet facilities, and generally improve the experience for all who utilise the Hall. The latter is well attended by people of all ages and caters for village organisations as well as public events and private hirings for family occasions.
Why they need our serviceThe original Hall was erected by volunteers in 1953 and has been strongly supported by the community ever since. It is arguably the social centre of the village, but it is beginning to show its age. A general refurbishment is now essential to ensure the Hall facilities are efficient and fully adequate for all members of the community who range from our village Youth Club through to our Old Folks Welfare organisation. The project is certain to greatly improve the experience of all user groups.
Plan and expected resultsIn detail the project will provide a new efficient boiler room, new electrical distribution, replacement windows & new toilet facilities including disabled facilities. It will also remedy existing drainage defects and provide upgraded entrance arrangements, wheelchair ramp, as well as improved kitchen and catering facilities including new oven and kitchen cupboards. Provision of all these facilities will naturally have a major impact for all those attending the many village community events.
