Bliss Brabiner will be running the Leeds Half Marathon on Sunday 12 May on behalf of Leeds Women's Aid. LWA provides support and refuge accommodation for women and children affected by domestic violence.
Why they need our serviceI would like to run for women's aid, as it is a charity close to my heart. Although I have never been a service user, I feel strongly about the charity and services they provide. I read an article about women's aid in cosmopolitan magazine, raising awareness of domestic violence and its effects. It highlighted that domestic violence is not only physical, but also emotional. I would like to do my small part in helping towards this charity being promoted and domestic violence being recognised.
