OK, so most of you by now are probably aware that I am planning on running the London Marathon for the first time ever! If you didn't, SURPRISE!!!
So the question I suppose is "why"?
Are you sitting comfortably? The I'll begin. Last year was the first year I actually went out to see the actual runners live after many years of watching it from the comfort of my own home! The atmosphere was positively electric and just seeing how many people were running for their the myriad of great causes clearly set the ol' cogs a turning. Something just said "you've gotta do it!"
Fast forward to now and I find myself with a letter in my hand with my registration number for the 2016 Virgin London Marathon!!!
But this is where I really need your support.
As someone who has worked for in the Public Sector over the last 10 years, I am acutely aware of the fantastic work that charities do for the less fortunate of us. And as a parent, I see children as our future and I believe that we should do everything we can to protect them. Please help me by donating for my chosen charity: SAFE! Support for Young People Affected by Crime
SAFE! has been established to provide support to young people between the ages of 8 and 25 years old in the Thames Valley who have been hurt by a crime or bullying.
SAFE! is one of the smaller charities out there but the work they do is no less important. They provide support free of charge and when it is most needed; when a young person decides they would like it.
Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read, and look out for my special moves at the finish line (providing the legs agree!!)
Thanks again,
Leon
