On Sunday 6th April 2014 myself and a friend will be running the Age UK Leeds 10k at Harewood House. All participants taking part in this event will be raising funds for Age UK's annual Spread the Warmth campaign which helps people in later life keep warm & well during the winter months.
Last winter 28,500 older people died because of the cold. 9 in 10 winter deaths are older people. 1.7 million older people in the UK can't afford to heat their homes.
A £2 donation to this campaign could buy a hot water bottle. £5 could provide 2 hot meals at a lunch club. £20 could provide 2 thermal mugs and an emergency food pack.
So if any of my generous friends or family would be kind enough to sponsor me doing this run (which I am absolutely dreading) your donation will be very much appreciated. For anyone who knows me they will also know that I am not a natural runner and my training has been hindered by shin splints to the point where my training regime has had to move from running to spin classes in order to keep my fitness levels up!
You can sponsor me through LocalGiving website https://localgiving.com/lisabeard or by texting AUKB14 followed by the amount in whole pounds e.g. AUKB14 £10 to JustTextGiving by Vodafone number 70070.
Thanking you in advance for any support you can give.
