Ellington Juniors Football Club has not just one local hero we have two local heros who are raising money this April for the club.
Our Heros
Michael Johnson and Alan Scurfield are our longest standing coaches at the club providing coaching for the young players who start their footballing journey from 6 years upwards while providing support and guidance to our other coaches and players within the club. In 2018 their efforts were rewarded with them both winning a National Keystone Award recognising 10 – 50 Years of voluntary service, Michael Johnson for 20 years service and Alan Scurfield for 30 years service. Both of them are very modest and would never see themselves as hero,s but...they are! Not all hero,s wear capes!!!
Their Event
This year the club is celebrating the completion of the Ellington Juniors Clubhouse and pitches which is a long held dream for them both.
To mark the hard work and dedication of all those in the club and external support from the community Michael and Alan are leading players from all teams and participants from the surrounding villages on sponsored walk around Ellington returning to the new clubhouse on Easter Sunday.
Their Mission
Health and well being is something we all want for everyone involved in the club and theres no better way to raise money and have a good time then getting out in the fresh air.
Their Dream
The clubhouse project is complete but there,s still work to do , planting trees, buying ground keeping equipment, the club needs fixtures and fittings in changing rooms and to do this we need financial support to finalise the project.
Please support them this April every donation counts!!!!
