London Marathon - 26.3 miles is no easy stroll in the park, it is a tough test of endurance and stamina both physically and mentally. This year James Bromhead has taken on the challenge of running the London Marathon in order to raise funds for the Associates of Epping Forest Field Centre to continue the valuable project and community activities they deliver.
Why they need our serviceThe Associates of Epping Forest Field Centre deliver projects and community activities, specifically for disadvantaged children, young people and families, those living in areas of socio-economic deprivation and children with special needs. Our projects target children who have little or no experience of the natural world and provide opportunities for children who could not otherwise take part in these activities.
Plan and expected resultsThe funds raised will go towards projects like 'Winter Wonderland Week'. For the last 18 years the Associates of EFFC have supported Winter Wonderland Week - the aim of the week is to give young people with special needs the opportunity to enjoy environmental activities free of charge. Some quotes from 2012: "It is very important for our children to have the opportunity to experience new environments - this was great", "The children all had a very positive experience".
