Young people explore concepts of Role Models, Image & Self Awareness through the mediums of photography, design and modelling. They learn how to take responsibility & lead by example. Seeking society's idea of what a role model is, they then create what they think are characteristics of a role model & the qualities needed to succeed, giving back to their community & beyond. Using the area they live in, they use their surroundings as a backdrop to their message finding the beauty in the photo.
Why they need our serviceIn consultation with young people we looked at the on-going issue of Image & media driven lifestyle that's presented to them. We learned that a young person's role models are mainly pop stars, actors & 'celebrities'. Most don't have or see people in their lives that they consider a role model. Instead, they turn to unrealistic personas of celebrities for guidance, admiration, & growth. Our young people desperately need accessible role models, who can help them grow & adjust to life.
