This crazy one will be jumping out a plane at 15,000ft on Saturday 9th September, all for a brilliant cause raising money for my local Multiple Sclerosis charity! (Wessex MS Therapy Centre Warminster)
Those who may not know me, I am a smiley friendly individual who unfortunately was diagnosed with Highly Evolving Relapse and Remitting Multiple Sclerosis in 2020 (with symptoms starting 7 years prior). Even though this disease is something I would not wish on my worst enemy, I refuse to let it win and push through the pain and physical barriers to live life to the full!
What is MS you ask? Well, Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects your brain and spinal cord. In MS, the coating that protects your nerves (myelin) is damaged. This causes a range of symptoms like blurred vision and problems with how we move, think and feel.
Without the help of the Wessex MS Therapy Centre, I wouldn't be the person I am today. The support I receive not only helps me physically but they also make my future seem less frightful and bearable.
Finally, I would like to give you a bit of a background about this amazing charity. They are a self-funded registered charity, providing therapies, information and practical and emotional support for people with multiple sclerosis (like me) and other conditions, such as Cancer, sport injuries, ME, chronic fatigue and many more... They offer physical therapies in a comfortable and friendly environment to aid symptom management, promoting and enabling independence to improve well-being and quality of life. They truly want all their members to enjoy each visit to the Centre, where they can provide long term, individual support including but not limited to physiotherapy, reflexology, oxygen therapy, counselling, massage therapy, nutritional advice, Pilates and yoga. For more information, please visit their website www.wessexms.co.uk Any donation big or small would make a massive difference not just to me but for everyone involved. TIA xx
