“Drag the money in” is Quilombo UK’s new fundraising project. As well as being a great way to raise money for our charitable objectives, we will also hope that this challenge will enable us to measure the discrimination that people can face as a result of their appearance or choice.
To help us “Drag the money in”, the team at Quilombo UK will be “dressing up” differently in order to raise money and judge the reaction of the general public. The challengers will be filmed going through everyday activities dressed in their regular clothes and later dressed as a woman, so we can observe the difference in the way they are being treated. The goal of the project is to discover what the root of prejudice and unacceptance is, towards people who dress outside the norm. Does it depend on the fact the clothes are female or is the kind of clothes they wear? We will soon find out!
