Jeremiah’s Journey is a charity that offers support and information to children and their families that have experienced or are anticipating the death of someone special. They provide their services for children and their families living in Plymouth and the immediate surrounding area.
They see many families each year and always aim to support children through their grief in a way that is most appropriate to each individual family. Many of the children that they meet are facing the death of one of their parents. They also meet with children who have been bereaved of a sibling, grandparent or someone else who has been very special.
They start out by meeting the family and hearing their story
They then offer help through providing:
• Reassurance and guidance for parents / carers
• Tailored individual sessions for children and young people
• Sessions for the family to talk together
• Extra support for those parents/carers who need it
• An open group programme for children who have a parent with a terminal illness
• A short term therapeutic group programme for bereaved children and their parents / carers
• Follow up sessions
• Events and activities for our families
• Study days where they share skills and best practice with other professionals
Sadly their service is one that will always be needed. They need support to make sure they can be there for every child and their family who needs are not just for now but for the future.
Please help me raise money for this charity, and help support all the work they do.
