On June 23 2019 I'll be swimming from Alcatraz - St Francis (San Francisco), a distance of approx. 2 miles in 14C open water. It will be an adventure, and I'm looking forward to it! The swim is organised and supported by World Water Swim; I won't be alone in the water, and there'll be boat and kayak support accompanying us. I'm looking forward to seeing the SF skyline from the water. There is a small possibility of sharks in the water but there are lots of fish and seals in this ecosystem that they prefer to humans clad in neoprene.
If the effort is worth a couple of quid of sponsorship, please help me support Bristol Refugee Rights, a grassroots charity working with people who have made their own far more dangerous and traumatic journeys, fleeing from war and persecution.
