Hi my name is Tim and I’ll be running this year’s London Marathon on 24 April raising money for the charity Moorvision.
Moorvision is a support group for Devon families of children and young people who are blind or visually impaired (VI).
Moorvision also welcomes VI parents and carers of VI or fully sighted children.
Moorvision is run entirely by parent volunteers.
The group enables families to meet and talk through all the issues affecting them and their children, including the feelings of isolation that many VI families feel. Moorvision have regular family days out, residential trips and parent/ carer evenings throughout Devon.
My daughter Georgia is 7 years old and is visually impaired and registered blind.
Moorvision has provided my family and others like us with so much support over the years. They provide opportunities for children to take part in a wide range of events from outdoor activity weekends, to being coached by England's visually impaired and blind football team, to enjoying all the fun of a pantomine! Moorvision helps to bring the world closer to children like Georgia.
Moorvision has information on eye conditions, education, Large Print, Audio and Braille books, IT, benefits, sports and leisure activities and lots more!
