Darren sleeping rough for YMCA SleepEasy 2018

Darren Thomson, Creative Director at Movey Ltd, is supporting the outstanding work of YMCA Milton Keynes by sleeping out on the street at the SleepEasy event on Friday 16th March 2018. While many people will associate YMCA Milton Keynes as a provider of accommodation to young people who are homeless, few people will be fully aware of the comprehensive, specialist and holistic approach the dedicated team at YMCA provide in enabling these vulnerable young adults, rebuild their lives from unimaginable traumatic circumstances and the complex needs which result from these experiences. Over 1,000 young people were referred or presented themselves to YMCA Milton Keynes in desperate need of shelter and long-term support with complex needs, including mental health and substance addictions. YMCA provides the only place where many of the young people in such dire circumstances can experience, often for the first time in their lives, a place where they feel belonging, are supported to become contributors, and are able to thrive. Over the next 12 months, Movey will be helping to share just some of the powerful stories of how YMCA has transformed so many lives since opening in Milton Keynes back in 1981.
