The letters and envelopes had already been printed ready for the original date of 26th April for my Treadmill Challenge and then lockdown happened so.....
“Well I said there was a twist but didn’t anticipate a second twist in the form of Covid-19 which has been a complete game changer for everyone. Given the current situation with many cancer diagnoses and treatments being postponed, anyone living with cancer needs what Yeleni has to offer now more than ever and this 20th marathon feels like my most meaningful. Ever ready to adapt and be positive, the plan now is to run my treadmill marathon on Saturday 31st October 2020 10am til 3pm with a second socially distanced treadmill and 10 companion runners each taking a 20 minute slot, all in fancy dress. Our Mayor Kath Hey has generously stepped in for one of the 20 minute slots, as has BBC Hereford & Worcester radio’s Elliott Webb who volunteered live on air. Charity founder & C.E.O. Nicky Heath will be running dressed as Batgirl! Obviously with current restrictions we can’t have crowds but we would love you to spectate via the livestreaming of the event on Yeleni’s Facebook page. Tune in every 30mins to see who the new fancy dressed runner will be. Please send me messages online during the marathon and I will respond to you verbally as I’m running.
Your donations will be invaluable in supporting anyone living with cancer & their carers through this challenging time.
Thank you in advance, Postman Mike
