Sleep out 2018

Did you know that an estimated 4,751 people bedded down outside overnight in 2017, up 15% on previous year. To try and help make these people’s lives better I have volunteered to sleep out for one night on 6th October and try to raise enough money to fund a much needed night shelter in my home town of wellingborough. Why Fundraise For The Wellingborough Winter Night Shelter? SleepOut for Wellingborough Winter Night Shelter will raise funds for equipment and running costs for the first year of the Winter Night Shelter. This will ensure that the homeless are safe and warm during the cold winter months. £10 could pay for a hot meal, hot drinks and breakfast for a homeless person staying at the night shelter for 1 night. £30 could buy a sleeping bag for a homeless person visiting the night shelter. The shelter would then keep the sleeping bag safe and clean ready for when the person visits again. £50 could ensure that the night shelter runs for another week. My £100 fundraising target could pay for a homeless person to be safe and warm in the nightshelter for 2 weeks. We are hoping that this event will raise at least £3,000 (as a minimum). £2,000 for the cost of getting the building ready and £1,000 towards the running costs.
