We're very fortunate to have a group of young people from the National Citizens Service fundraising for us. On the 9th of August, Team 2 will be embarking on a pyjama walk. They will be walking from Nottingham Trent University to The University of Nottingham, and then back into the city centre.
Imara is not a government funded organisation therefore fundraising is vital to pay for our general running expenses like stationery, art materials, therapy rooms to ensure we continue to support victims of Child Abuse. Our upcoming Sanctuary Space project to renovate our buildings has been costed at £7500, and so fundraising is essential for us, to ensure that we can carry out this important work to ensure we can continue to offer our clients effective treatment.
Imara works with children, teenagers and families after a disclosure or discovery of child sexual abuse. We offer early intervention support in the form of three strands.
Legal: Information, advice and consistent contact throughout the judicial process, support at Video Interview and medical examinations.
Therapeutic: Specialist assessment and therapeutic session to help with recovery in areas such as anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance and flashbacks.
Advocacy: Support with education, health, housing and financial concerns.
We work closely with other professionals to ensure that the child's voice is heard.
