Hi All,
If you know me then you know I am not a natural runner! But in June this year I surprised myself and joined a running club. Paul Popham's Running Club has a programme to help people like me to learn to run 5k. True to their word Jo and Clare Popham and all the other club leaders helped, supported and gently encouraged me and a group of non runners to run a little further each week until we could all run 5k comfortably.
The club is amazing and I now enjoy my Sunday runs and have made some great friends.
I want to say thank you - before starting to run my resting heart rate was about 80 and now a couple of months on it is down to 56. I feel so much healthier and love having an hour to myself to run.
The Paul Popham Fund raises huge amounts of money to provide renal support acrosss Wales. I am hoping I can raise just a little bit to help.
I will do my very best to run the whole of the 10k race in Swansea on Sunday 24th September.
If you have a spare pound or two and would like to sponsor me I would really appreciate it.
Thank you
Nicky xx
