I am running for Lads need dads, a charity which really does change lives. It is a local charity, and I hadn't even heard of them until 3 days ago! Keep reading...
Those of you who know me, know that I have had a busy few years. I needed a new goal so I started running. I have gone from barely getting down the road to hitting 5k in less than 6 weeks.
I entered myself for the colour run and found a fellow mummy to run alongside. I do not know this lady, but she has taken me in as an extra! The charity lads need dads is who she is running for, and after some research I am overwhelmed with the amount this charity does for young men. The support they offer sets them up with new skills, and sets strong examples with father figures as they grow into their teenage years.
As a Mum to a one year old, I am very lucky that I have an amazing husband who really is an incredible dad. I would love to help give these opportunities to other children, and any amount you can help with will make a massive difference to this local charity.
So if you can, please donate any amount to this wonderful charity. I will get round that 5k huffing and puffing with a smile on my face, knowing that not only am I hitting personal goals, but this run will also benefit this charity.
I thought about running for so many other charities, but this local one has really touched my heart. This is my first ever race, so let's do this.
