So I'm celebrating a milestone.... and in a typical 'pre-middle-aged crisis' moment, it's been an opportunity to reflect on how lucky I am to have so much.
Some people have kindly asked what I would like for my birthday, or when they can buy me a drink- but a donation to this cause would really mean more to me than anything else.
AND...
*Local Giving have also agreed to: DOUBLE every £10 that's donated after Tues 17th October
I spent the last year volunteering for this amazing homeless welfare service in Westminster.
Hidden among the posh buildings and politicians, is a free evening meal service for anyone that's homeless or in sheltered accommodation. It's run by an inspiring group of volunteers, and the service relies on donations from local shops and restaurants to feed anything from 20 to 60 people each night.
Over the year, I've met an incredible range of people who come in - from young professionals like me who've had had a run of bad luck, so those who have been on the streets for years and look forward to their meals and a chat at the Abbey Centre. It's really made me understand how life can be very different, just from the hand you might be dealt.
At the moment, we're struggling to secure a longterm funding source for the service. There have been nights when we just don't get any donations, and have to turn away the hungry people who show up.
Just to give you an idea, all it takes to fund one entire evening meal service for our homeless guests is about £35- it's really not much.
I would be really grateful if you could consider donating something to this cause- and thank you for reading this!

PS. I will also be running another half marathon in November, so will be doing some work for your money too... I just know most of you are bored hearing about my runs by now!
