2020... what an absolute mess of a year. Whether it was tier 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6000, there have been quite a few challenges most of us have had to face. These might have included loneliness, anxiety, the toilet roll drought, getting fed up with zoom calls, or struggling with being cooped up inside all day. However, there are a lot of people who didn't have the luxury of a safe and warm environment to hold up in during this pandemic.
GreaterTogetherManchester.org states "Across Greater Manchester, 5,564 people are homeless" with the actual figure likely to be higher due to coronavirus. So whilst most of us have found staying inside tough just imagine how it'd feel to have nowhere to call home.
So, after the negatives of 2020, why don't we start 2021 with plenty of positives and try to improve the lives of others around us? This is why I'll be raising money for the 'Big Change MCR'.
'The Big Change MCR' fund supports individuals who are homeless by paying for items they need such as a deposit for a home, a training course, clothes for a job interview, or furnishing for a new home. If you'd like to find out more about 'Big Change Manchester' click here.
In order to get your attention and raise money, I have set myself the challenge of running 10 km a day, every day, for the entire month of February. Anything you could donate would be greatly appreciated and could make a huge difference in changing somebody's life.
