Having vowed I would never run another marathon again after my Manchester experience last year, I'm back, Steve Redgrave-like, for one more go!
So, I'm running the London Marathon this coming Sunday!!!
This page is going up very last minute, but for anyone who would like to support me, I'm raising funds for my local food bank again - Bow Food Bank (who operate both in Bow and Bethnal Green). They do fantastic work and are a lynchpin of the local community. If you are able to support them, it would be very much appreciated.
The reason for the late notice, is that I've only made the final decision today (Thursday) to go ahead with the run.
I suffered an ankle injury during my training 6-7 weeks ago. I did have to stop running completely until the last couple of weeks, where I've got back to a minimal program. So I won't be aiming for any PBs, but simply trying to get round in one piece. To get a 4 hour time will be amazing, but I'll be pleased if don't stop and my ankle has not fallen to pieces.

I believe my wave starts at 10:15am, so I'll be halfway just after midday and at the end after 2pm

A bit more about Bow/Bethnal Green Foodbank They've been running since 2014 in East London with a small team, coordinating almost 500 volunteers.
Due to the challenges of lockdown and then inflation, they've been managing an ever increasing need for support in the local community. In 2023 they were helping approximately 1000 families a week.
A £20 donation buys one family a bag of food that would support them for three days.
£25 means the family can also take a children's top-up bag
£50 means fresh fruit and vegetables can be offered to 20 guests
