I'm running my first marathon this April 16th in Manchester.

I'm in the midst of 4 months training - my target time has been 3h30-3h40 and it's been quite the slog. By race day I should have covered 850k, and be on to my 3rd pair of trainers (one pair was mistakenly incinerated). But, the end is thankfully in sight now!

I've decided to help raise funds for my local independent food bank - Bow Food Bank. I've been volunteering for them since the latter stages of lock down - and have seen firsthand the incredible work that they do.

They've been running since 2014 across two sites in East London with a small team, coordinating almost 500 volunteers.

Due to the challenges of lockdown, and more recently the cost of living crisis, they've been managing an ever increasing need for support in the local community. In 2022 alone they have helped over 4000 individuals, giving out £395,000 worth of food and essentials.
In the latter half of last year, the number of visitors increased by 80%, and for 2023 it's projected to reach 1000 families a week.

A £20 donation buys one family a bag of food that would support them for three days.
£25 means the family can also take a children's top-up bag
£50 means fresh fruit and vegetables can be offered to 20 guests

I know things are very tight at the moment, but if you're able to help support them I would be so grateful for your donation.
Any amount at all is welcome!
