Can Tom Sully and myself dare to take the pain of having our legs waxed? I think we can, but can we? This is how we're going to find out...but more importantly... we're going to try and raise funds and awareness for LGBT charity The Kite Trust while we're finding out! [http://thekitetrust.org.uk/]
Rather than shuffle off to a beauty salon to have them waxed professionally, I thought it would be much more fun to make it interactive and have the donators do the waxing!
The event takes place from 4.30pm in the Cass Centre fitness studio, Cambridge, on Friday 23rd March. The event coincides with Happy Hour in the bar so please come along and get involved while you're having a drink – whether you’re paying to do the waxing, or just giving moral support!
If you can't make to the event then you're welcome to donate via this page. And of course you're welcome to donate once the event has been held and the legs have been waxed...however they might look!
Why fund raise for The Kite Trust?
Hayden: Through my involvement with burlesque/cabaret in the UK, I spend plenty of time around LGBT performers. I'm not gay myself, so I might not always fully understand some of the experiences they've had - but I see how much work they put in to raise social awareness and I've learned a huge amount from them.
The Kite Trust seemed like a perfect charity to do this fundraiser for; they teach, they educate, and they support and give opportunities to young people in the LGBT community. I felt it was a good opportunity to put something back into the community that has given me a lot of time and education in the past few years.
I'm hoping that this event will be a lot of fun to do! Let's enjoy it and raise as much money as we can!
Thanks very much in advance for all of your support!
