Having just passed my 60th birthday, I wanted a challenge for myself and at the same time to help raise funds for a superb local community project.
I have been plagued with chronic back pain for over 10 years and have tried many types of treatment most with little success. But the one that has worked best is exercise and a good diet.
Through this I have lost weight, over 2 stones. This has enabled me to greatly increase my physical activity, especially the one I like the most - running. Now that I have got myself fitter, I feel that it has also improved my mental wellbeing. That is why I want to support Frame of Mind C.I.C. It is a organisation for which I have worked for nearly 11 years.
Frame of Mind C.I.C is a picture framing and printing business which offers training for people who have mental health issues, learning disabilities or dementia. As any small project can testify, raising funds is a time consuming and demanding process. I want to raise money in order to help. They have been brilliant employers to me and to repay their kindness, I am attempting to run The Bognor Regis 10K in under 60 minutes. This is my challenge - 60 minutes for 60 years.
