Our Gym provides sustained physical activity in the local community at a reasonable price which the residents of this area can afford. With Membership only £100 per year, £15 per month or £2 Pay as you go and open 9am-9pm Mon-Fri and Sat 9am-1pm, it's accessible and affordable as well as a place new friends come together and volunteers can have responsibilities and gain experience and training along the way.

This was in a response to the increasing health issues of a modern lifestyle. Pelton falls in the top 30% of social economic and deprived areas of the country with a high risk of cardio vascular disease. For community members to reach their nearest gym it would be a 30/40mins walk, 5min drive, or a bus ride with a 10 minute walk, with membership fees up to £325 per year. We aime to combat this by providing cheaper physical activities within our Centre on a fixed basis.

Our expected results from opening the Gym include both health and social benefits for the community members, as well as volunteers gaining qualifications and experience including fully funded Gym Instructor Courses, First Aid Training and more. We hope the gym will be open to local groups who can privately hire out the facilities too, including local children's charities. The gym will also form a steady stream of income which can be used to fund future projects or additional equipment.
