OCRA considers all planning applications and planning appeals within East Chesterton. Where it is felt that a planned development is appropriate to the area it is supported, otherwise it is opposed or changes are sought to make it acceptable. OCRA provides support to local groups of residents affected by planning proposals

Cambridge is under intense pressure and undergoing rapid change. While OCRA is not opposed to development,it is considered important that any change which takes place in East Chesterton is consistent with the character of the area, and preserves the quality of life of the community

OCRA strives to ensure that any development preserves the character of Chesterton Village. OCRA also strives to protect or encourage any facility which enhances the community.
