We have initiated the football festival to implement the core values of our organisation. Helping our members and the wider community towards social inclusion and integration is our goal. The festival is a football tournament and a community fun day, where we put on various event and activities that will reflect the local society and benefit attendants. We put on the many activities, to name a few; a six-a-side tournament, mini Olympics, arts and crafts, face painting, music and taster sessions.
Why they need our serviceOur local community has become a multicultural place, we need activities that will bring people together, celebrate the diversity, raise awareness of everyone's cultures and develop an understanding with the aim of building a stronger community. Due to cultural barriers and the current economic climate that has affected community projects, there are much less open activities that bring people together. The success of previous events has proven the necessity of this event within the community.
Plan and expected resultsBy running this annual event we hope to bring our local community together. Without a fair understand of each of the issues within the community we cannot be there for one and other, so we believe in raising a strong awareness of the different cultures and diversity that reflects the community. We expect all attendants to learn something positive to take back to their neighbourhood. We are hoping to see disadvantaged and minorities groups, asylum seekers and refugee groups and local groups.
