Protecting What Makes Our Communities Special
Our area is special. It’s the warmth, the vibrant mix of cultures and the feeling that neighbours look out for each other.
Family Voice and Ammi’s Kitchen help protect this every day by supporting more than 350 local migrant women each year, in a space where they feel safe, valued and able to improve their lives. When they walk through our doors, they find belonging, friendship and purpose in our classes and in our food social enterprise, Ammi's Kitchen.
In a time when society can feel more divided and people are worried about the future, our work quietly strengthens the local social fabric. Families feel safer. Neighbours share meals. Differences become something to celebrate, not fear.
But we can’t keep this going without local support.
This winter, we are asking for your help to keep our classes, hardship support and employment pathways going — and to protect what makes our neighbourhood so special: its kindness, diversity and community spirit.
The impact is huge: women gain confidence, income and independence; families feel safer and more supported. The benefits for the whole community are clear — neighbours connect across backgrounds at Ammi's Kitchen Community Lunches; the local economy becomes more resilient and distributive; and our neighbourhood grows stronger and feels more friendly.
By donating, you are helping to protect the heart of our community by investing in the warmth, resilience and belonging that make our communities somewhere we can be proud of.
Thank you for standing with us this winter.
