We are running the Great Manchester 10K on 28 May as part of the University of Manchester's 'purple wave' (thousands of staff, students and alumni all starting together, all wearing purple!)
We're raising money for The Proud Trust, a great charity who support LGBT+ youth (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans + other identities such as asexual, intersex, questioning). The Proud Trust runs a Centre in Manchester as well as youth groups and other activities/support.
We recently got to meet and hear from some people from The Proud Trust including young people who engage with them. Many LGBT+ people face a lot of prejudice and the Trust has literally saved people's lives. I think it is great how much the Trust offers to LGBT+ youth and I hope to raise lots of money to help them continue.
