We are working with Southern Brooks to raise money for their dementia project. Southern Brooks work very hard to help those effected by dementia in and around south Gloucestershire. The work they do ensure that those who are living with this condition are respected, valued and able to participate in their communities.
Since 2015, Southern Brooks have been leading work to support communities and organisations across South Gloucestershire to become more dementia aware. Their aim is to create dementia friendly communities where those living with dementia as well as their families/carers are respected and included in society as valuable members. Also, where people learn about dementia and simple things that can be done to enable inclusion for those affected by dementia. 
Ways they do this are through their dementia friend sessions, their presentations and talks, work in schools, publications and dementia friendly signs, as well as membership of the SGDAA. These are all opportunities to learn about dementia and how it is experienced by those who are affected by this illness. As well as remove the negative stigma that is associated with this condition.
