Hi guys, my name is Jason and I am going to do a sponsored walk from Coventry to Birmingham on Thursday 28th May 2020.
I'm trying to raise awareness of an illness close to my heart and to support a local charity doing amazing work during these uncertain times.
Sickle Cell Anaemia is an inherited red blood cell disorders which can significantly reduce the quality of life for sufferers. This illness is chronic and requires long term treatment.
My partner battles with pain crisis daily, and my new born daughter has sickle cell trait.
Due to my personal experiences of the illness it has increased my awareness and made me passionate and want to help those suffering the illness in some way during the Covid19 pandemic.
Many other sufferers face challenges including having no family support, living in isolation and loneliness during this shielding period.
OSCAR Birmingham continue to support children, young people and families during lockdown through telephone support, advice and information and distributing food parcels and basic essentials to those in need.
