Social isolation is a major problem facing the elderly within the UK. We, as Team Perham of NCS, want to tackle this issue to improve the welfare of the older generation.
After recently visiting the Alexandra Grange Care Home in Wokingham and speaking to a few of their residents, it became clear that many people felt isolated and had few other friends within the home. That's why we're raising money for AGE UK as they run befriending services in order to bear loneliness.
This is an important issue as this year one million people will go a month without speaking to someone else.
