We would like to book a weekend trip at the Calvert Trust which is an activity centre especially equipped to enable people of all disablities to take part in wide variety of activities, to improve their fitness, social skills and level of self esteem.

Why they need our service

Blind and visually impaired children are very often the only child with that particular disablity in their school and family. It can be very isolating for them and their families. The chance to attend a resedential trip with other similar children and families gives them the opportunity to meet with others in the same position and try activities previously inaccessible to them.

Plan and expected results

We would expect to see children attempt activities that they would have never have had the chance to do before. We would also expect them to feel less nervous in doing these things as they would be surrounded by other similar children. It would also provide the parents/carers with the chance to share information and experience.
