The Carer Support Worker will attend the carer's home and support the dependant, acting as a companion and friend, whilst the carer takes a break. Crossroads can help any day of the week between 8.00am and 10.30pm. Variable times can be arranged. Overnight support can also be arranged.
Why they need our serviceWe are seeking to provide additional help and support for the many people in the district who are able to live at home, only because of the constant support they receive from a relative or friend. Often these carers never get a break from their caring role, and face increasing stress. Crossroads, by providing regular, or occasional respite to the carer, can help to avoid this situation. Crossroads will provide a carer support worker, either on a regular or ad hoc basis.
Plan and expected resultsIncreased financial support means that Crossroads will be able to offer more free care to people that are in most need.
