Hi I'm Rhidian Lane. I'm 39.
I'm swimming 5 kilometers because I want to give something back to the charity who have been instrumental in my recovery journey. Recovery Cymru are an organisation which help people with substance misuse problems.
This is very close to my heart because I had a problem with alcohol for many years and was only able to address and deal with this problem when I started coming to RC. I lost my children because of substance misuse and realised that in order to see them again I needed to change. I want to be part of the real world and a real "normal" life. RC helped me to achieve this and so much more!
I would like to raise £250 and more if possible! £250 is exactly how much it costs to fund this amazing charity for 1 day. This provides vital support for 180 adults across Cardiff, Barry & The Vale of Galmorgan and satellite support groups in Rhondda Cynon Taff and Cowbridge.
