Hi,
I'm Richard, I live in Milton Keynes and I am passionate about helping others that are less fortunate that myself and often or not put in circumstance beyond their own control. Many have been successful/professional people just like you and I.
Recently I learned about an event that is being organised by MK YMCA, to raise the critical funds that they need to carry on with the selfless work that they do for people less fortunate in my town. It's called 'SleepEasy', where volunteers (ordinary folk like you and me) sleep rough, so others don't have to in their future.
MK YMCA is the only emergency accommodation provider in Milton Keynes for people aged 16-65. It also recognises the need for young people to secure long term accommodation whilst developing the necessary life skills to achieve independence. It aims to tackle social exclusion through the provision of safe and secure accommodation as well as the delivery of learning, volunteering and social activity programmes.
On Friday 22nd April, myself and other fundraisers will be bedding down in cardboard boxes, on the streets on Central MK with the aim to not only experience the conditions that rough sleepers have to endure every night, but to also gain sponsorship and raise money for MK YMCA.
MK YMCA is hoping to raise £10,000 in total, so whatever you can afford to donate, big or small, please donate, every penny helps and your sponsorship will go towards helping local people in crisis.
I like to set the fundraising bar high for the time remaining (just 11 days remaining since setup of this page), I am sure I can count on everyone (including you) of you to show your support, but more importantly show your backing for MK YMCA and to let people of all generations know that we are on 'their side and not alone'.
May I wish you a fantastic day and hope you think of this page in the coming days passing it on to those you know locally too.
My Warmest Regards
Richard
