DOING IT FOR THE KIDS!!

When I completed the London Marathon 2019 I made the decision to hang up my running shoes. And for a long time that is what I did. After pounding the pavements for a number of years I felt like my body could not take another battering and as such I had to find something else to occupy my time.

However, this year the charity that I am proud to work for has secured places in the Virtual London Marathon 2021. After much thought and deliberation, I decided that I just had to put the shoes on one more time to help support a cause that is so dear to my heart.

SAFE! Supports young people who have been victim's of crime. Established in 2008 SAFE! has provided open access, inclusive and free services for young people and families throughout the Thames Valley who have been affected by crime, helping them overcome the effects of what has happened to them and regain their quality of life. With your support SAFE! can continue to empower young people, giving them a voice and helping them and those around them to build protective communities where they can feel safe.

I have wondered whether my body can withstand another training regime and another 26.2 miles. However, the resilience of the young people that SAFE! supports is all the encouragement, motivation and determination that I need. If a young person that has suffered abuse, can still look at life with a brave and positive outlook, then I can withstand the pain of pounding the pavements for a marathon distance.

Any monies that you are able to donate will go directly towards helping SAFE! to continue the work that they do.

Thank you so much for your support and for going on this journey with me. LET'S DO THIS!!
