Hello there. My name is Jimmy Watkins and I used to be an international athlete. In 2006 I got to the 800m final at the World Championships in Moscow. A year later I quit the sport to start a rock band. After years of not looking after myself, I finally decided to start running again in 2019. Later that year I also set up Running Punk with my good friend Rhodri. Through Running Punks, we encourage people to run and talk about music. We are all about community building, which is very similar to the wonderful work done by Gig Buddies. I'm delighted to be running the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Gig Buddies.
