Safehaven Women has been going since October 2009 and runs during school term time on a Thursday afternoon from 1:30 - 3:30pm and offers basic services such as tea and coffee, homemade cakes, advice, friendship, practical support, access to clean clothes and toiletries. Furthermore, it offers opportunities to receive beauty treatments such as manicures and pedicures, and take part in a range of classes from cake decorating to exercise classes.

Why they need our service

Safehaven Women is a Christian initiative which provides a safe and secure environment for marginalised women from the street community and the vulnerably housed. The overall aim of Safehaven Women is to provide a safe place for vulnerable women and treat them with dignity, respect, and love. It is committed to providing a warm, stable, non-threatening environment whereby women can form friendships and receive practical support and advice.

Plan and expected results

That women who are vulnerable, isolated, and on the margins would not only know what we offer and where we are, but would find friendships, and support both emotionally and practically so that their daily lives are changed for the better. We want to see dignity restored to these women and that they are given all the help they need from us and from those in the area who can help find housing, employment, break any addictive behaviour, and bring them into community.
