The theme of this year's Refugee Week is community as a superpower. As someone who is lucky enough to feel part of and welcomed by many wonderful, supportive, joyful communities, I am passionate about everyone having that opportunity.

The Launchpad Collective (TLC) also believes in the power of community - alongside their impactful work supporting people with refugee backgrounds to access the skills, confidence and experience needed to find meaningful work in the UK, they offer a sense of community and belonging to their clients.

On Saturday I will be joining another community swimming 3.8km down the river Arun. Given I can only really swim breaststroke and can barely do more than 1km this will not be easy! Knowing I am playing a small part in Refugee Week and raising vital funds to support TLC's work will help me get to the finish line. Having just read TLC's impact report I know how far they stretch every pound and I am proud to be raising funds for a such a great cause.
