Our historic lifeboat 'William Henry and Mary King' has been removed from our playground for repairs. We are desperate to get her repaired and back in the playground by Easter 2013. Generations of Highbury Children have enjoyed playing on this boat since it retired from active service in the late 1980s.
Why they need our serviceThe William Henry and Mary King has been involved in the rescue of hundreds of people and has saved over 70 lives. She has been for 20 years an established local land mark and well as providing thousands of local children with unending pleasure and joy as a play structure. Please help us bring her 'home'.
Plan and expected resultsIf we can raise the money we need to restore 'William Henry and Mary King' then it will return to serve new generations of Highbury children. The boat will have a new home in our playground following construction of our new Community Art Block and will be more visible to passers by and local people. Over time we would also like to provide more information about the rich and fascinating history of 'William Henry and Mary King'.
