Hi my name is Sara and I am undertaking a challenge to raise money for Basingstoke Young Carers and Papyrus(Prevention of young suicide) by climbing the highest mountain in England-Scafell Pike(3,209 ft)above sea level. The BVA Youth Team aims to support, encourage and inspire the young people we are taking on this challenge to believe they can achieve their goal of scaling the highest mountain in England.
The team consists of 6 Youth Workers and 6 Young People from all types of backgrounds. This will be a journey of potential growth and development for our young people that will provide them with foundational knowledge of rising to a challenge, battling through any obstacles they may
face and sticking to an agreed goal and outcome. It may provide them with the lift they need to go out into the world and become whatever it is they wish to be, the aim is to create an inner desire in them to follow their dreams and recognize that the only limits they have are the ones they place on themselves.
PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. The charity operates HOPELineUK - 0800 068 41 41 a freephone national confidential line staffed by trained professionals providing advice, support and information to anyone concerned that someone they know is feeling suicidal or to the individual themselves.
