Our Pupil Transition programme has been designed to build pupils confidence, communication, teamwork and leadership skills as well as focussing on positive behaviour. This programme also adds value to Citizenship at key stage 2, Unit 01: Taking part - developing skills of communication and participation. The nature of the programme and the guidelines within our Safeguarding Policy for staff to pupil ratio during high level outdoor adventure means that we will be working with a group of 8 pupils.
Why they need our serviceIt has been recognised that the challenge of a new school environment, new people and a new way of learning can prove to be a major concern for many students but especially so for those students who have been identified by teachers as being at risk of making this important transition successfully. Along with a number of schools we have identified that there is a need to support vulnerable young people making the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 (primary to secondary).
