Can you help us support to keep the children of refugees and people seeking asylum well fed this Summer?
We're fundraising to provide Food Vouchers for families of refugees and people seeking asylum with children in Tyneside, and we could really use your help!
In the last few years, especially since the pandemic, we regularly support roughly 50 families or 120 children during the Summer holiday period and we are hoping to do the same this year. We expect this to cost at least £1,500 (based on past experience and the increasing cost of living) which we hope to raise by Friday 16th August to make sure no one misses out!
The families of children who receive free school meals often really struggle to make ends meet during holiday time. We really need your help to support them and make sure that none of the children we work with goes hungry this Summer.
The vouchers will be bought from local, independent groceries/food businesses and provided to families with children who receive free school meals. This will ensure that they will receive the healthy, nutritious meals they need to thrive, and to access culturally appropriate food too. You will also be directly supporting the local economy.
