Our Dad has dementia. He is 69 years old. At the beginning of 2019 it was something that he been living with for several years but had taken hold in a way that meant he needed more help. He has always loved doing DIY and when Mum found Frame of Mind it truly felt like a ray of light in the dark - here were kind human beings opening their framing business to people with dementia and learning disabilities. This meant that Dad could do something practical, was kept busy and had that sense of achievement and accomplishment which was not often possible.
It also gave our Mum a break and for a few hours on a Wednesday she knew that Dad was safe, happy and looked after. Unfortunately, he is now unable to go as his dementia has worsened but we will never forget the support and hope that Ian and Theresa gave our family in that moment.
