OSCAR Birmingham is a charity organisation which supports and assists children and families who are affected by Sickle Cell and/or Thalassaemia. They aim to to help improve the quality of health, social and economic well-being for children, young people, families and adults living with Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia in the Birmingham and surrounding areas.
Every year, 1 in 300 new born babies have Sickle Cell. This condition mostly affects people from African, Caribbean and Middle Eastern Backgrounds..
On Thursday 16th June 2022, I will be climbing up Mount Snowdon for a sponsored hike in recognition of World Sickle Cell Day. Your donations will help support children diagnosed with Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia by reducing isolation and putting together activities for them to improve their well-being.
The donations will also help put together baby essential hampers for mothers who are currently financially struggling. The hampers will include baby formula, nappies, toys and other essentials they may be in need of.
I would be very grateful if you could donate generously and share with family and friends :)
