As we prepare for Christmas, by decorating our homes, buying and giving presents and celebrating with friends and family, it's easy to forget that for many people, Christmas Day is just another day of poverty, loneliness and surviving the winter.
So, on 19th December, St Peter's Church in Roydon is organising a camp out on the village green and in the church. Inspired by the first Christmas when Jesus was born into poverty in a stable in Bethlehem, we will be creating our own stable to sleep in and braving the winter night, to raise money for Streets2Homes.
Streets2Homes is a charity based in Harlow, Essex. It operates a day centre for homeless people, providing them with housing, employment advice, training sessions, health services, washing facilities, food and clothing in a safe and friendly environment.
Please help us to help the homeless in and around Harlow, by giving whatever you can.
