Team Fundraisers

Our aim is to get any new newcomer to the city to attend our sessions. The project's goal is to organise free ongoing open community sessions. Accessible to everyone within the community without any barriers. Through those sessions we will promote fun and enjoyment, integration and diversity, health benefit of sport, volunteering opportunities, transferable skills and the building of a stronger community. We will also provide a place to make and build friendship, free structured football sessions

Why they need our service

This project is to provide sport and physical activities and promote social inclusion among asylum seekers, refugees and locals. Our beneficiaries have barriers in accessing free regular and structured football activities. Racial, cultural, language and economic climate are ongoing barriers to regular sport. This project breaks down those barriers and gives the attendants all the benefit gained through sport, such as health, fun and enjoyment, and a place to make friends.

Plan and expected results

We are hoping for the newcomers to the city to take part in our open community sessions. We expect to offer asylum seekers and refugees a place to access free football, a place to make friends, and re-build their confidence and self esteem. For locals to learn about new people in their neighbourhood, for all attendants to gain all the benefits of sport and regular exercise such as reducing risk of obesity, cardiovascular problems and learn from others what is happening in the city.
